Kevin Durant had an absolutely ridiculous game for the Golden State Warriors, beating the Cleveland Cavaliers at every turn and leading his team to a 110-102 victory in Game 3 of the NBA Finals. Durant finished with 43 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists.
LeBron James, noted ALSO PRETTY GOOD AT BASKETBALL player, had a strong game as well, along with Kevin Love for the Cavaliers. James put up his 10th career NBA Finals triple double, en route to 33 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists. Love finished with 20 points, 13 rebounds and three assists.
The Cavaliers didn’t even play bad — in fact, they played quite well until Durant started to take over the game.
Durant was about the only Golden State player who did anything in the first half. Steph Curry had just two points after quarters, missing all five of his three-point attempts. Klay Thompson had just five points, with 1-of-4 from range.
Meanwhile, Durant had 24 points, was 7-of-10 from the field and 3-of-4 from range, and had eight rebounds when the game went to halftime. Cleveland, on the other hand, had 14 points from LeBron James and 15 points from Love, who also had 10 rebounds.
Still, it was a back-and-forth half of play. The Warriors were very bad right out of the gate, but Durant carried them to just a 6-point deficit going into the half, despite the Warriors clearly being outplayed much more than that.
Draymond Green finished with 10 points, 2 rebounds and 9 assists. Curry finished with just 11 points, making just one of 10 three-point attempts.
