Doncic, like other early-entry candidates, had the option to remove his name from the list of players eligible for selection by sending notice to the NBA league office by Monday's 5 p.m. ET deadline.
Doncic, the reigning MVP of the Euroleague regular season, Euroleague Final Four and ACB regular season, is playing with Real Madrid in the Spanish league (ACB) playoffs. The best-of-five finals against Baskonia will start Wednesday. A potential Game 5 would be on June 22 -- the day after the draft.
Where Doncic will be drafted remains a significant point of interest. He is projected to be picked No. 4 in the latest ESPN mock draft. He remains under consideration at No. 2 and No. 3, a source told ESPN.
A number of teams have also inquired about the possibility of trading into the top three, with an eye on picking Doncic. Those conversations are expected to become more serious in the coming week.
