Teams hoping to get an answer to Manny Machado's free-agency decision will have to keep waiting for the answer until after the holiday season.
Per Jon Heyman of Fancred Sports, Machado has made it known to the New York Yankees, Chicago White Sox and Philadelphia Phillies he won't sign until after Jan. 1.
Heyman noted Machado's tour of potential suitors is believed to have included only those three teams.
Machado has spent this week meeting with teams to discuss how he would fit into their long-term plans.
Per MLB.com's Todd Zolecki, Machado's visit with the Phillies on Thursday lasted more than four hours.
"Pretty awesome," the four-time All-Star told Zolecki. "I learned a lot about the organization. Very fun."
While no formal contract details have been announced publicly, Jim Bowden of The Athletic reported if the offers to Machado are similar that he would prefer to play for the Yankees.
Machado appeared in all 162 games last season with the Baltimore Orioles and Los Angeles Dodgers. The 26-year-old tied his career high with 37 home runs and set a career high with 107 RBI to help the Dodgers reach the World Series.
