TY Hilton Active Once Again For Hungry Colts - Colts.com

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Colts are down a couple starters on defense in today’s crucial Week 16 matchup against the New York Giants, but the team’s offense should be at near-full strength once again.

That’s because wide receiver T.Y. Hilton, who has been battling a late-season ankle injury for the past couple weeks, is active once again for the Colts.

Those who are inactive today for the Colts: center Josh Andrews, wide receiver Daurice Fountain, safety Clayton Geathers, guard Mark Glowinski, safety Rolan Milligan, linebacker Anthony Walker and running back Jonathan Williams.

Two safeties who were labeled as questionable heading into today's game — Mike Mitchell and George Odum — are both active. Mitchell has missed the last two games with a calf injury, while Odum missed two days of practice this past week with a knee injury.

Mitchell is expected to start in place of Geathers at strong safety, while Ahmad Thomas is expected to get his first start of the season in place of Walker at the MIKE linebacker spot.

Hilton suffered his injury two weeks ago in the Colts’ road victory against the Houston Texans, and considered himself at about 70 percent heading into last week’s game against the Cowboys. But he toughened it out and ended up playing a major role in Indy’s 23-0 shutout victory at Lucas Oil Stadium, catching five passes for 85 yards.

Hilton hopes to play a similar role today against a Giants defense that allows 6.73 yards per pass play, which ranks 24th in the league.

Glowinski, meanwhile, also suffered his ankle injury against the Texans, and was unable to practice, or play, the following week. Although he missed Wednesday’s practice, Glowinski was able to return to the field on Thursday and Friday, and was also labeled as questionable entering today’s game.

With Glowinski out again this week, however, Joe Haeg is expected to make his second-straight start at right guard for Indy. Haeg was part of an offensive line last week that allowed zero sacks and ran for 178 yards in the win over the Cowboys.
